-Snatched From the Fire-

MB900438774Hi friends! It has been LONG time since blogging due to computer problems, holidays, visits and the whole nine yards that everyone else has on their plate.

My three year old son fell into an outdoor campfire. Yes, you read that right, and it was burning! We were on vacation as a family. On the very last day, last meal, we were going to have a hotdog roast. The children were outside playing. Jordan was chasing his ball. Never noticing the fire he hits the rocks and tumbles right in. My daughter cried out in terror and started running the other way. Dumbfounded, I stood there. Much to my horror, I see him flailing in the fire trying to get out, unable to. My husband dashed off the porch and yanked him out. Jordan’s coat was melted completely through, his eyebrows were melted together, his hair singed, and he had a huge black and blue mark on his leg from where he hit the rocks before tumbling in but otherwise he was fine! It felt like a HUGE God-miracle! Many stories don’t turn out as well. This got me to thinking. In Jude verse 23 it says:” save others by snatching them from the fire”. The urgency I felt. The danger that was present. Do we get it with the world? MB900437381Our world will one day be destroyed with fire (see Revelations). Millions of souls are dying with out Christ and will spend eterenity with fire. Do we seek to rescue even one from the flames? Is there an urgency? I’ve had the blessing of knowing about Christ ever since I was a baby. What about those who are flailing in the fire with no way of escape unless someone grabs them out?!  What does it mean to “snatch souls from the fire”? I believe this could mean praying, evangelizing, befriending, and action. What other things would you add to the list? Snatching people from the fire means that we will get dirty and the “job” won’t always be safe. It isn’t a life of comfort and luxury. Are you willing to be a people-snatcher?

“People Need the Lord”-by Steve Green

Everyday they pass me by,
I can see it in their eyes.
Empty people filled with care,
Headed who knows where?

On they go through private pain,
Living fear to fear.
Laughter hides their silent cries,
Only Jesus hears.

People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
At the end of broken dreams, He’s the open door.
People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
When will we realize, people need the Lord?

We are called to take His light
To a world where wrong seems right.
What could be too great a cost
For sharing Life with one who’s lost?

Through His love our hearts can feel
All the grief they bear.
They must hear the Words of Life
Only we can share.

People need the Lord, people need the Lord
At the end of broken dreams, He’s the open door.
People need the Lord, people need the Lord.
When will we realize that we must give our lives,
For peo-ple need the Lord.

People need the Lord.
